Eva Struble

Motivated by the dynamism of the landscape, Struble investigates what is altered by humans, reclaimed by nature, and the result of their symbiotic interaction. Recent projects include a mural at the San Diego Natural History Museum in San Diego, California, a solo exhibition at the Athenaeum Music & Arts Library in La Jolla, California, and commissions from the Google Campus in San Diego, California, and the Palo Alto Public Art Commission in Palo Alto, California. She was recently awarded a residency at Saiko Neon outside of Tokyo, Japan (2023).


Eva Struble
(b. 1981 Elsmere, Kentucky) lives and works in San Diego, California. Struble received a BA in Visual Arts from Brown University (2003) and an MFA in painting from Yale University (2006). She is an Associate Professor of Painting and Printmaking at San Diego State University. Struble’s work has been shown at California Center for the Arts, Escondido Museum, California; Wassaic Project, New York; University of Virginia School of Architecture, Charlottesville; San Diego Art Institute, California; MoCA San Diego, California; Pomona College Museum of Art, Claremont, California; La Jolla Historical Society, California; Cleveland MoCA, Ohio; and Elizabeth Foundation for the Arts, New York. She has executed public projects at the San Diego Airport, the San Diego Google Campus, the Palo Alto Public Art Commission, the San Diego New Children’s Museum, and the City of Hope Cancer Center in California, among others. Selected residencies include the Vermont Studio Center, the Headlands Center for the Arts, and the Andratx Cultural Center in Mallorca.
